Mr. Chas. L. Tate.
Manchaug. Mass.

Dear Sir,

Yours of the 5th. inst. to Prest. B. Young was duly received.

He instructed me to acknowledge the receipt thereof and to say that he is engaged in the manufacture of cotton, although there is a Factory in the southern part of the Territory, known as the Rio Virgen Manufacturing Co. Washington County, where they manufacture Cotton & Woollen goods.

He has two Woollen Factories, one of them quite large, with all the modern improvements and is expected to commence operations for the first time in about a month. It is 50 miles south from here at Provo City, and is managed by Mr. A. O. Smoot of that place.

Yours with respect
D. McKenzie Secy.
