Dear Bro:-

We feel a deep interest in the Arizona Mission, and the development of the Southern Country, and as we cannot be there personally, at present, and Elder Joseph W. Young's health is so very poor, as to prevent his active assistance, we wish you and the brethren with you to lend every assistance in your power, Still we know you are not full-handed, and we have no desire to put more upon you than you can attend to. We want to work a road from the mouth of the Scootinpah to the mouth of the Pahreah, and have written to Bishop Roundy' on the subject and promised him that we would write to have you co-operate with him.

We have concluded not to send the Steam, Saw & Grist Mill until fall, when we expect a suitable boat will be built to ferry it across the river.

It does not appear now that we will be able to visit the south until after Conference, but if all is well, we hope to go then,

If we can manage it, we want to build a boat 12 x 40 ft. and think about sending for a wire rope, and probably use the boat as a current boat.

If there is any one in the south capable of building this boat, we are willing to pay for it. We have an idea of engaging a boat builder here if necessary.
