Dear Sir;

Your favor of May 13. reached me a short time ago, and I was well pleased to hear from you.

We have by no means forgotten you, on the contrary, you are often spoken of here, and with warm remembrance.

The party you allude to, as exploring in the east, are travelling for health, pleasure and information, but with no view to effect a change of our present location.

We have no desire to remove, at present, at least, and we hope, with the blessing of Providence to remain here, notwithstanding much opposition.

Thanking you for your interest in this behalf. I remain

Yours respy.
Brigham Young

P. S. We hope to see you here again, and at no distant day, and we will endeavor to make you welcome.
