Dear Brother George Q.

Your letter of 2nd inst. is just to hand with summary of an Affidavit, from which I infer you are feeling a little uneasy about Adolph Rozin's statements. Now, please inform members of Congress that it is none of their concern what you or any other member has said or done previous to their election; and, I presume, some lawyers and evil disposed persons are having statements hatched up to scare you into paying them money to buy off such lying accusations.

Tell them to "crack ahead" and you continue to trust in the Lord, and have no fears at the barking of the wolves.

This is the 3rd day of our Conference, and the meetings have been very numerously attended, and the Elders have spoken very spiritedly to attentive audiences, mostly confining their remarks to the "United Order," which the Saints seem to appreciate. This forenoon the authorities were unanimously sustained, and this afternoon the general officers of the "United Order" were elected by the Conference.

This is a hasty note, written to help you set your heart at rest. Do not fear them, but tell them to mind their own business. Also, tell them, that the statements you forwarded here, purporting to have been made by one Adolph Rozin are infernal lies; and that it is none of their business as to the killing of Babbitt, even supposing you had been there at the time, instead of in California.

I will take the first opportunity to write to you more at length, and will simply add an acknowledgment of the receipts of your very welcome and interesting letters of March 21. and 23. and April 7, 8, 10, 18, and 24, and Poland bill with amended section.

With kindest regards and best wishes, I remain

Your Brother in the Gospel
Brigham Young
