Hon L.J. Herrick, Mayor and Members of the City Council,
Ogden City,
 
Dear Brethren:
 
Yours of the 1st inst in relation to depot lands at Ogden has been received.
 
In reply permit me to say, that the deeds of conveyance are now being prepared by the Attorneys of the different Railroads, and I expect will be completed and signed in a few days.
 
This matter has been under consideration by the Attorneys for some time, and it is no fault of mine that it has been delayed so long, as Bros' Hooper, Eldredge and myself are, and always have been, ready to execute the requisite papers.
 
Although as you say "nothing has been done in the way of building or any other improvements by either of the railroads" still the question of the junction, so far as I understand it, is permanently settled.
