Dear Brethren:--
We have concluded to send down to the Platte Bridge for our train that was left at that place by Bro. Groesbeck last fall and have selected you to go with him and others to accomplish this object. We also want about fifty Mules which are in good order and have not lately been drove too much upon the road and needing rest, and consequently not fit to go, as is the case with the most of ours. Where you have or can get such animals we wish you to furnish them, with the necessary Camp equipage, and report yourselves, with your arms &c., at the Tithing Office in this City ready to go, on Thursday the 3rd day of June, where you will meet the balance of the company.

If any of you cannot well go on this Mission we wish that you would substitute some equally suitable person in your place, or get your Bishop to do so that the number may be complete.

Be prompt and vigilant, and may God bless you.
As ever yours in the Gospel

Brigham Young
