Dear Brother,

About the first of April last you tendered me your resignation of the bishoprick of the 15th Ward. for reasons then I did not accept it.  I hoped  you would have dropped out during the removal of the Saints south.  You have however continued to act in the office up to date.  I would now be pleased to receive your resignation at your very earliest convenience, addressed to the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and it will save you much trouble-- asking no questions.
