Mr. Abner Ormsby,
Bloomfield, Davis Co., Iowa,

Sir:-
It would have given me pleasure to have sooner answered your letter of inquiry, of date Oct. 31, but it is only a short time since I obtained the information now forwarded, which I copy as furnished to me upon my inquiry:--

"City Bountiful, Davis County, U.T.
Dec. 14, 1861.

This may certify that William Ormsby was a resident of North Kanyon Ward, Davis County, and he died in December 1851, or January 1852. He had a daughter named Olive Cynthia Ormsby, who died, March 1, 1851, aged 17 years. He had two sons that were twins; their names were Levi and William; they left this Territory in the Spring of 1853 for Lower California, and were living for a number of years near San Bernardino; nothing further is known concerning them.

(signed John Stoker.)

Mr. Stoker instituted inquiry at my request, and furnished the foregoing, which I deem reliable according to the best information he could obtain.

Regretting my inability to furnish you fuller details on a matter of so much interest to you, I remain,

Respectfully,

Brigham Young
