I am in receipt of your letters [illegible] and Dec. 23, 1851 in which you acknowledge the receipt of the [illegible] containing [illegible] the general census of [?] Deseret.

I am heartily gratified that they have been satisfactory to you, and for your kind note to our Delegate, The Hon: John M. Bernhisel.

Ever being desirous to render all the assistance in my power Departments of the Government receive [?] assurances
