Eli P. Maginn (ca. 1820-1844)
ca. 1820–27 Apr. 1844. Born in York (later Toronto), York Township, York Co., Upper Canada. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in Toronto, by Dec. 1837. Ordained a priest, Dec. 1837, in Scarborough Township, York Co. Moved to Missouri, Mar. 1838. Ordained a seventy, early 1839. Appointed to serve mission to eastern U.S. and Canada, ca. 1840. Moved to Peterborough, Hillsborough Co., New Hampshire. Briefly visited Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois, June 1843, then traveled back to eastern U.S. with fellow missionaries Brigham Young, Wilford Woodruff, and George A. Smith, 7 July 1843. Married Mary Foster, ca. Dec. 1843, in Peterborough. Died in Lowell, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts.
