Hon. William H. Hooper,
Washington, D.C.

Dear Sir:--
To effect what was deemed an advantageous trade I have been obliged to draw a draft upon you, in favor of James Walker, or order, for $700 00/100. You may look upon it as a little strange that I should draw upon you before being advised that you had succeeded in collecting a like or larger amount for me in the States, but have ventured to do so upon the strong presumption that you have already collected a larger sum for me, and, if not, that honoring the above named draft will not seriously incommode you and will greatly oblige me until such collection is made, which I trust will be soon if not already accomplished. In case you honor this draft you need be under no apprehension of my troubling or discommoding you with another draft or drafts, unless it so happens that I am previously advised of additional means to my credit or control in your hands, in accordance, in this particular, with the invariable practice of Pres. Brigham Young.

Your Brother in the Gospel

Heber C. Kimball
