Br. James Jones,
Spanish Fork, U.T.,

Your letter of the 16th inst. is at hand, and in reply I have to inform you that we intend to send an oxtrain from here to Florence, to assist our immigration by hauling flour and depositing it at different points, and to haul machinery and other freight from the Missouri.

The train will start sometime from the middle of April to 1st of May next, depending upon the grass and the snow in the mountains, and I shall be pleased to have you, if consistent, furnish a wagon, 3 or 4 yoke of cattle, and a teamster to go with the train, for which we will allow your Bishop on labor tithing, to be apportioned among those in his ward who assist the train. Should you feel unable to assist in this matter, we will haul for you the flour you may wish to send.

Please read this letter to your Bishop, that we may learn whether he cannot assist the train with a team, &c., as above named.

Your Brother in the Gospel

Brigham Young
