Elder John R. Young,
Payson, U.T.,

Dear Nephew:-- In reply to your note of the 16th inst., I have to inform you that I think your idea for increasing your stock of education is a very good one, and do not know of a better opportunity than now presents, before your family, business, and cares so increase as to more or less render impracticable the course you now propose. If consistent with your circumstances and other duties, I shall be much pleased to have you become a pupil in the Union Academy.

Your Brother in the Gospel,

Brigham Young
