In reply to your letter of Jan. 22, I have to state that the last I heard of your brother Peter Haws and his family, they had left this Territory for California, where I presume they still are. Not having heard from them since they left the Humboldt or St Mary's River, I am unable to inform you any more definitely as to their location.
