G. S. L. City, July 8, 1861.

Br. William M. Wall,
Heber City, Provo Valley, U. T.

Br. John M. Murdock has called on me to-day, he says by your request, to learn whether the brethren in Heber City are at liberty to build on their lots, to which I reply that you are now so numerous that it is, probably, safe to build on your lots, for doing which you have my full consent. When you build outside of your fort, my advice is not to skip lots, but to work from some point, in whatever direction or directions you choose, and build upon each lot, that you may still be measurably compact.

Your Brother in the Gospel,

Brigham Young
