I have just heard that a Corps of Engineers have passed through from Denver City direct by way of Uinta Valley Provo &c. <surveying and Locating a road> for the Mail Route &c. Rumors are also rife about more troops being sent here. Volunteers from California it is said 1500 strong may be expected. May be so but we doubt it,
