Dear Brother:--

By your note of the 11th ult. I was pleased to observe that you expressed a desire to aid your folks to emigrate from England, but at present I am not able to inform you whether or not the condition of our finances will enable us to take stock in payment of next season's immigration indebtedness, and, probably shall not know until somewhere about January next.

It requires money to emigrate from Liverpool to Florence, and lest we should still be short of cash to accomplish all we desire to, it will be best for you to watch opportunities to turn your stock, &c. into money to the amount you wish to assist your friends in getting to Florence, and from there you can further aid them by being prepared to send a wagon and cattle with the train we purpose sending next spring to bring those unable to purchase wagons and teams for crossing the plains; or, should you be unable to do so in addition to paying their way to Florence, they would stand a good chance to be brought by the train, for all the poor who were at Florence this season, wishing to come here, are being brought by the train sent down last Spring.

Your Brother in the Gospel,

Brigham Young
