G. S. L. City, Sep. 21, 1861.

Pres. George Q. Cannon,
42 Islington, Liverpool, England.

Dear Brother:-

Since forwarding to you by mail the originals of the duplicates now inclosed, I have understood that our mail matter is interrupted by the troubles in Missouri, and I improve the opportunity for safe transmission by the hands of our Delegate, Dr. Bernhisel, who expects to start by stage for Washington on the 23 inst.

In addition to items in duplicates, br. N. V. Jones informed me, to-day, that you had received the £411-6-3 sent to you by Hon. W. H. Hooper; please place the same to the credit of my deposit a/c.

I have drawn upon you draft No 207, in favor of Sarah Godbe, for £5-0-0, which
charge to my deposit a/c.

The telegraphic dispatch which arrived to-day is dated at Sweetwater bridge, and Mr Creighton expects in a few days to be telegraphing from Rocky Ridge. Prospects continue fair for telegraphic communication across the Continent, on or before the 1st of December next.

Lest br. McAllister may not have forwarded to you the $600 left on deposit in New York by br Jones, I have requested br. Jones to authorize Dr. Bernhisel to draw and forward it to you, which, when received by either hands, I wish placed to the credit of my
deposit account.

Matters remain as when last advised.

Your Brother in the Gospel,

Brigham Young

P. S. I have drawn upon you draft No 208, favor of Elias H. Blackburn, for $26.50,
which charge to my deposit account.
