Pres. Orson Hyde,
Springtown, Sanpete Co., U. T.,

Dear Brother:-I wrote you somewhat at length on the 15th inst., since when yours of the 11th has come to hand, and in reply I have to inform you, in regard to the persons you mention, say nothing to them. If any come back there, let them come, go to work, and behave themselves; and, after a while, if any of them really wish to be baptised, let them be baptised and confirmed, and then let the matter stop.

A sister Maria Thompson of Moroni has written to me about her husband's having apostatyzed, &c. Please say to her to get a bill of divorce from the Propbate Court, and then marry the man she chooses, if she can; and if she can not do that, then marry whoever she pleases and can.

Returns are in from all Counties but four, without a vote dissenting to the Constitution, and the unanimous election of the State ticket. Br. William Clayton, Secretary of the Convention, this evening handed myself and br. Kimball our certificates of election as Governor and Lieut Governor of the State of Deseret, and Judge Elias Smith administered to us the oath of office. This weeks 'News' will contain my Proclamation for convening the General Assembly in the Council House in this City on Monday the 14th of April next.

At latest date from br. George Q. Cannon, Feb. 8, the work was prospering abroad, and 12 persons were baptised in Amsterdam, Holland.

Brs John Brown and E. H. Blackburn telegraphed from New York City on the 14th inst.;  they have been sent there from Liverpool to assist in this year's immigration, and then come home.

The weather still continues wintery.

Your Brother in the Gospel,
