Mr. Stratton,
34 Hyde Park, London, England,

Dear Sir:

Having heard that you expressed an anxiety for some relics or mementoes of your deceased sister, Mr's Kipling, I gladly embrace the opportunity for safely sending to you by the bearer, Elder George Sims, one silver lever watch, with Robert Kipling engraved on the outside of the inner case; one small portmonie containing three and one half sovereigns; several photograph and other likenesses; and some manuscripts, printed slips &c.

After learning your wishes in the matter, I obtained the aforesaid articles from the Hon. Elias Smith, Judge of Probate in Great Salt Lake County. Commisserating with you in the sad and sudden bereavement of your sister and two of her sons, and hoping that the few mementoes herewith forwarded may afford the expected and desired consolation, I subscribe myself,

Respectfully,

Brigham Young
