Captain John R. Murdock,
En Route to Florence, N. T.

Dear Brother:

The six (6) Companies composing the train to Florence have 71 1315/2000 tons of Church flour, which I wish deposited as follows:-- five (5) tons at Green River; five (5) tons at the most suitable station near the Rocky Ridges or head of Sweetwater; ten (10) tons at or near Independence Rock; ten (10) tons at Deer Creek; fifteen (15) tons at Laramie; and the remainder (26 1315/2000 tons) proportionally deposited between Laramie and Wood River, as you need take none beyond there. The rear Captain will make the five (5) tons deposit at Green River; at all other places of deposit above named each Captain will leave his portion, as near as may be, of the amount to be left to any given place, the rear Captain in each case completing the amount required. Where a deposit is made, if any Captain is doubtful of its safety let him detail a good judicious man to remain with it, who probably can find profitable employment until the flour under his oversight is all drawn by the returning companies.

Trusting that these instructions and those you already have will be carefully observed, and praying for the welfare of yourself and Company and all the does or may pertain to you in going and returning I remain,

Your Brother in the Gospel,
Brigham Young

P. S. Outfit flour, &c., can be deposited as instructed for Church flour, and thus save quite an amount of hauling.
