Captain George Stringham and Heber P. Kimball,

Dear Brethren:

Circumstances have transpired causing me to wish yourselves and company to go on to Carson, after unloading the flour at Ruby, and bring freigh from Carson to this City.

It will probably be best for you to quarter over from Ruby on to Humbolt river, as br Howard Egan says the grass and water are much the best on that route, though the distance is somewhat longer. Br Egan will inform you where to turn off from the mail route, and how to proceed on the cross route.

I wish you to be very careful and constantly on the alert against surprise, injury, or loss from any source.

Mr Street, will arrange for receipting the flour, and for furnishing your loading from Carson.

Your Brother in the Gospel.
