Br. Isreal Evans:

From what I am informed I am constrained to advise you to take good care of your wife Ann, maiden name Powell, or else give her a bill. Should you neglect taking good care of her, insomuch that she shall request and obtain a bill of divorce from you, I wish you to thoroughly make up your mind to never get another wife, nor to so much as ask me for another. Unless there is some good cause for a husband's neglecting a wife, it is obvious that he does not deserve one.

Your Brother in the Gospel.
