In reply to your letter of the 20th inst., I have to inform you that I am not aware that any inference was drawn from your telegram of the 4th inst., concerning Mr's McKnight and Mr Broadhead, further than that Mr's McKnight was boarding at your house, and that Mr. Broadhead was in Carson City.

Please inform me who is in this city wrote to Mrs McKnight, conveying to her the idea you mention in your letter, and oblige
