Dear Brother:-

At the instance of the minister of Foreign Affairs at Copenhagen I have been written to for a certificate of the death or information of the whereabouts, if alive, of "Abigail Johansen, formerly married in Denmark to a man named Knuth Kjer". She is stated to have emigrated in the Spring of 1862, and it is thought either with you, or under your care, or in your company.

If you know of the death of Sister Kjier, please forward to me, at your earliest conveinence, your certificate of her death; or, if living, information of her whereabouts, and oblige.
