Mr. H, J. Jarvis,
Burlington, Iowa.

Sir:-

Mr's Aitken has presented me a portion of a letter written by you to her on the 6th of April last, and asked my advice on the subject.

The Woodmansees are here, are said to be getting along pretty well in business, and I presume are as honest as they were when you was here.

If they honestly owe you, as you allege, I know of no other way for you to have the matter adjusted than to come here yourself.

Should you have any scruples in regard to the treatment you might receive here, I give you my assurance that you will be fully protected in your person and rights, so far as I have influence. If it is necessary my house shall be your home.

The foregoing is the best course for you to take in the case, so far as I know at present.
