Dear Brother:-

The bearer of these lines, br. Joseph H. Ridges, visits the States for the purpose of buying material for the construction of a large Church Organ, which we wish him to build for our new Tabernacle now being erected.

To accomplish the purpose of his visit he will need the facilities of money and freight, and I therefore wish you to furnish him such sums of money as he may call upon you for, and make arrangement for such amount of freight as he may have, within the limits of the requirements of the business upon which he is sent as aforesaid. He estimates the cost of the materials he wishes to purchase at some $1000 Dollars, and the freight at some 1000 pounds. It is not probable that he will call upon you for much money, for he takes with him authority to also call upon br. Horace S. Eldredge for money, and will doubtless prefer drawing funds east where he will make his purchases.

I wish you to freight in the Church trains the cotton factory machinery purchased by br. Eldredge, and also if possible, all the carding machines in the warehouse, and the cards so far as they are not destroyed by rust.

I inclose you a draft on A. J. Center, O. M. Co., New York City, for eighteen hundred and sixty four dollars and seventy cents collected for you from Camp Douglas by Bishop Sharpe.

To-day I telegraph you to pay Heber P. Kimball $195.00, which br. H. S. Eldredge will pay back to you on an order sent to him, by br. Ridges. to pay that amount to Heber P. Kimball or order, as br. Horace has that class of funds in his hands.

All well and doing well.

Your Brother in the Gospel.
