Your favor of June 28 is to hand, and I was pleased to learn that the Cedar Creek question had been unanimously, and I hope satisfactorily, adjusted by the parties concerned. I was also pleased to learn that the road in Spanish Fork Kanyon was in condition for passing over with teams, and trust that at your earliest convenience, compatible with other duties, it will be made as good a road as the nature of the country and circumstances will permit.

Please say to the brethren concerned that I deem it best for them to omit operations in Thistle valley, further than hay-cutting and herding, until we are a little more crowded in the other settlements and better acquainted with the climate and other facilities of that valley.

I thank you for your friendly suggestions in regard to inquiring of the Bishops and other good men in certain cases, which I believe has been my general course, and from which I have no feeling (to) deviate.

I wish you success in winding the "pestey" things off.

I omit news, which you receive in the papers and dispatches, farther than to say that we are all so busy that we scarcely take time to read the dispatches and only glance at the papers.
