Bishop W. Miller:-

Dear Brother:-

I have no recollection that br. Graves ever said anything to me about you. If he has said anything wrong or injurious about you to any one, be able to fairly prove it, and then call upon him in the spirit a Bishop and a father should possess, and as a brother in the church, and amicably and righteously settle any matter of difference there is between you, if there be any.

Are you not old enough to be a man, and not act like a boy? And are you not aware that a mild, kind, persuasive, peace-making, and fatherly course should ever be characteristic of your position? And have you not yet learned that the truth of the old adage that "molasses catches more flies than vinegar"?

From this time forth I wish contention, threatenings, and harsh and improper speeches and remarks to cease on the stand and in other public meetings in Provo, and a spirit of peace, intelligence, brotherly kindness and salvation to be cultivated and fostered, that you may constantly grow in grace and in the knowledge of the truth, in the observing of which you will secure to yourselves a more ample salvation in the celestial Kingdom of our God.

You may think this pretty severe chastisement, but receive it kindly and it will do you good.
