Elder Sylvester H. Davy
Port Alleghany, McKean County, Pa.

If you have any facilities for supporting yourself and family where you are until another Spring, I think it would be poor policy for you to move to Florence this Fall, for I am not aware of any opportunity you would have there for sustaining yourself during winter.

We presume there will be an immigration from Europe and the States to this place next Spring, not now knowing of anything to hinder, but of course can not inform you so long beforehand, definitely on that point.

Should you and your family continue in the spirit of coming here in obedience to the principle of gathering, it will be best for you to forthwith lay your plans for being able to be in Florence, N. T., on or about the 1st of July next, in readiness for crossing the plains with your own team if you can purchase one, or, if not, with the trains that will probably be sent there to assist the poor, as has been done during this and the two past seasons.

We are not and I presume will not be able to extend any assistance beyond Florence.

If there are any persons in your region who sincerely desire to come here to worship the Lord their God with honest and full purpose of heart, they are at liberty to avail themselves of the same advice and privileges as are herein extended to you.
