Dear Brother:-

Your letter of the 24th Ult., asking advice touching the estate of Susannah Claxton deceased, is at hand. My advice in the case is for you to settle and pay all just accounts against the estate, then, without regard to the receipt she has given, give the daughter such portion and kind or kinds of the property left as your judgement may deem right under all the circumstances; and then, as speedily as your other duties and the facilities and opportunities will permit in prudence, turn the balance into stock (near Cattle and sheep) and drive it to this City.
