I enclose a copy of a letter I have received in relation to the survey in which you are engaged; from which I judge that you need not go beyond Kansas Prairie and further more if the weather is cold and disagreeable where you are there seems no particular objection to your coming home at once.

I think of starting soon to Sanpete and would like to have your company with John, Brigham & others.

All is peaceful & quiet prevails here. Your family are well & all the folks generally -- but Brigham's Howard is some bad but will probably get along.
