Bp. A. K. Thurber,
Spanish Fork, Utah County U. T.

Dear Brother:

I have learned that you do not take that <such> care of the Tithing procedure paid by the people of Spanish Fork Ward as you should, that your hay, vegetables, grain &c., are neglected, and much left to go to waste. If we do not take better care of the blessings bestowed upon us by our Heavenly Father, they may be withheld from us, and we held accountable for our stewardship. I want you to commence now, and from this time neglect nothing that will promote the mutual interests of the office and the brethren over whom you preside, and if you cannot, or are unwilling to do this, signify it, and <we> will appoint some other man.

As you have not the best facilities for storing your grain at present, ask the brethren to bring to the Tithing Office in this City, where it is much needed, and the Lord will bless you in so doing.

Your Brother in the Gospel

Brigham Young
