Dear Brother:-

Your favor of Jan. 28 is to hand, and in reply I have to inform you that I am doing nothing about buying or sending for wagons this season, except such as I <may> want for my own use. I have also to state that our finances will not permit us to take grain and send for persons to be immigrated. If those wishing to send for their relations or friends sell their grain for money, and deposit the money and names with my chief clerk, br. D. O. Calder, in season, the persons can be sent for. It is estimated that $50 in greenbacks, or 40 in coin, for each adult person, deposited in my office in time, will enable me to send and get the person to Florence.
