Elder Peter Robinson,

Dear Brother,

I have just received a letter from a Bro. James Chatterton, of Wortley, England, who states that, just previous to your departure from England for home you stated to him that you were short of money and asked him to lend you some, which he did to the amount of L5.7.0. He took no receipt, trusting to your honesty to repay him; but you promised to send for him the next year. This money was not given to you, he says, but simply loaned, he having saved it for his emmigration.

He desires to have this matter settled.

I remain Your Brother,

Brigham Young
