Elder David P. Kimball
42 Islington Liverpool:-

Dear Brother:-

Your favor of Dec. 14 came to hand safely a few days ago, and has been perused with pleasure.

I read every thing from and about the Young Elders who have left home on Missions to the nations with great interest, and my daily prayers are that they may be blessed and preserved from every sin and be enabled to return home in purity. You ought to be very faithful, for great hopes have been indulged in respecting you, and great faith has been exerted and is still being exercised in your behalf. You are learning an experience that will be of great benefit to you. And I am pleased to see from your letter that you appear to appreciate the opportunity which has been granted you. You are in the best school to gain the knowledge of your religion that you could possibly be placed in, and if you improve your opportunities, it will be a source of life long pleasure to you.

The General News from the valley I presume you see through the letters of your friends, I therefore need not dwell upon it. Axcept my love to yourself, remember me to your brothers and to all the Elders whom you may meet.

My son John W. will start from here on a Mission to England on or about the 5th of Feb. next, and will probably reach England about the middle of March.

May the Lord bless you and enable you to fill your Mission with honor is the prayer of your

Friend and brother in the Lord,

Brigham Young
