President's Office.
Gt. Salt Lake City,
Jan. 30th 1866.

Dear Brother Andrew:-

Your letter of the 14 Jan. came safely to hand. I am sorry to hear of the loss of your stock. The winter has been very severe in this valley and stock has suffered and great numbers have perished. The president says that you may have as long as you want to turn the means into Cash for the telegraph wire. But, if I were you, I would not take any more time than is absolutely necessary to accomplish this, as the president will stand very much in need of the means. His health is good, and general health prevails.

With love, I remain Your brother,

Geo. Q. Cannon
