Sir:-

Your letter of the 2nd instant, on the subject of your patent broom, has been received. Broom making is not a business carried on in this Territory as it is in the States generally; almost every one raises broom corn and makes their own brooms as they are needed. From your description of the patent I think it is a very useful invention, and would save considerable expense. Should any person of your acquaintance be coming out into this country, you might send some out as samples.
