President's Office
Great Salt Lake City Feby. 27th 1866

Bp. J. T. Willis

Dr. Bro.
Bro. J. W. Cummings informs me through Bro. Musser that I have on hand in this City about 8,000 pounds of Cotton. This amt. with about 12,000 pounds more will supply the Factory with raw Cotton until I move it to Washington some time in August next. You will please forward but 12,000 pounds to the City by the Teams going for the poor. Should you not have this amt. on hand at Toquer. you will oblige me by seeing that it is furnish baled & forwarded by the offices farther from Washington.

Neither need you bale any more than the 12,000 pounds as the residue can be conveyed to Washington without much baleing from the different wards.

The remaining cordage can be kept until needed elsewhere.

Respectfully Your Bro. in the Gospel

Brigham Young
