Dear Brethren:--

Your letter of 22nd Feb. on the subject of the location of the town near your place has been received. I was somewhat surprised, as I had supposed that this matter had been fully settled long ago. Elder George A Smith and Mr. Musser were down there, and, as I understood had fully settled this question. Your letter is the first intellegence that I have received to the contrary. (Would) it not stop the contention and difficulty, in which (you) seem to be involved, if every man <were> to settle where he (had) a mind to? If I were to go down to your place, (and) attempt to settle the matter in dispute, I do not (know) that it would be any better.
