Elijah Allen,
Fort Herriman.

Dear Brother:--

Your note of Feb. 8th, came to hand. I regret much to hear of your sickness; but you must not give way to the idea that "the Lord is leaving you to die without friends". We have a never-failing friend in him, one on whom you can rely, and to whom you can appeal in every time of need with certaintity, that you will be comforted and strengthened in your feelings. Do not dispair or give way to low spiritedness because of your afflictions. In common with all the saints you are remembered in holy places. May the lord bless you, and fill you with His <Holy> Spirit is the prayer of Your

Brother,

Brigham Young
