Mr. J. T. Potter

Sir:

In answer to your note of 31st ulto. I beg to say that, you can have the use of the Academy of Music for two months, at a rental of sixty dollars for each night it is used by you, payable invaribly in advance, you furnishing every thing necessary for the theatre at your own expense, and paying for all damages done to the scenery, properties, lamps, and other property.

You shall have the privilege of playing as many nights in the week you choose.

It is understood that the entertainments given will be of a moral character, and that you will take all necessary precaution for the safety of the building.

I will furnish a man who shall be in possession of the keys and take charge of the building, and whose duty it shall be to open the Theatre at such hour and on such evening as you require to use it, the expense to be defrayed by me.

If you fail to pay the rent nightly in advance then the building will be closed, and our arrangement ended.
