Dear Brother:-- A wife of Brother Martin Crandall-- Mary Jane Crandall-- formerly wife of Bro. Spicer Crandall, called upon me a day or two ago, to state her circumstances to me to obtain counsel.

I wish Bro. Crandall would take proper care of his family, and treat them kindly, and not drive them from him by harness and neglect. He should try and bind his folks to him, and by his love, manifested in word and action, <operate upon> this woman so that she will cling to him instead of being alienated from him.

With love I remain your Brother,

Brigham Young
