Gt. Salt Lake City,
July 11th, 1866.

Messrs. Barney, Morgan & Co.
New York City, N. Y.

Gentlemen:

On the 5th instant I drew a Draft on you for Three Thousand Seven Hundred Dollars ($3,700.00/100) at Sight, in favor of Joseph A. Young, Esq.

To-day I have drawn again upon you for Five thousand Dollars ($5,000.00/100) also at Sight, in favor of Isaac Bullock, Esq.

I am closing up a Six hundred miles of poles, which. I have delivered.

Mr. E. Creighton wishes to take the East end of the Route, which I have under my contract with you, and to have me furnish the same number of Poles from here to Virginia City, and wishing to learn your views on the subject, I telegraphed you as follows, to which I have received no answer: "Is it your wish for me to relinquish a portion of my Contract East to Mr. E. Creighton of Omaha for the same distance from this City North, and will such a transfer be accepted by you?"

Respectfully,
