Dear Brother:

Your favor of the 12th instant, has been received. I do not wish to suggest any name, as you propose, for the Legislature. The better way to proceed, is for yourself and the people to get together and agree on some man, and then, when you all come to the ballot box to vote, have no contention or division; but vote unanimously for the man whom you nominate.
