Elder Wm. W. Perks,

Dear Brother:

Your letter on the subject of obtaining my counsel and sanction for you to go to England and finish what you consider to be your Mission, has been received.

I think that you are too advanced in years to go on a Foreign Mission. You had better make up your mind to stay at home, and make yourself as comfortable as you can for the remainder of your life and leave to younger men the labor of going abroad to proclaim the gospel

I remain, Your Brother,

Brigham Young
