Dear Sir.:

I wrote Mr Little on the subject of our conversation respecting the Hotel, submitting to him the proposition that you hire my half of the establishment. He states in his reply, that "while appreciating the character of Col Smith as a gentleman, and a friend of the people, I would respectfully object to be accomplished by so doing."

These being his feelings, and he the active partner in the concern, I do not feel to urge the matter further upon him,
