Dear Sir:

We have a number of physicians and surgeons in this City at the present time, as many, it seems to me, as can find employment profitably in their profession. In face, there are a number of Medical men here, with whom I am acquainted, who, not finding business in their profession, have turned their attention to other pursuits. The country is a healthy one, and doctors do not receive much patronage. Our community are generally averse to employing physicians, if they can possibly avoid doing so.

This is a plain statement respecting this matter.

Very Respectfully,

Brigham Young
