Dear brother:-- I called upon Prest Young a few days ago, and, in the course of conversation, spoke to him about you, and he told me to write to you and have you come home. This is my motive for writing to you at the present time. You are at liberty to return home as soon as you can conveniently and bring your folks with you. There is nothing for you to do as far as the mission is concerned and you might as well come home and do something for your family. Your folks are well, and general good health prevails among the people. Everything is moving along quietly here at present.

Our enemies do not make much headway in their schemes against us. There has been counsel given lately for the brethren not to trade with the gentiles here who are our avowed enemies. Upon hearing some rumor of this, twenty three of them signed a Card offering to sell out all they had at 25 per cent less than a cash valuation, provided their outstanding accounts should all be paid, To this President Young made a reply. They now feel very sick about what they have done, and wish they had not been in such a hurry. They are nicely caught, and those who did not sign feel very happy over the matter.

The telegraph line is nearly all stretched; we are now in communication by telegraph with Logan in the north and Manti in San Pete County, and expect to be connected with St George in about a week or ten days.

The winter has been very mild thus far, and a great quantity of rain has fallen. It is almost impossible to get into the Kanyons, the roads are so very bad.

Give my love to bro. Geo. Nebeker and all the boys and their families, and accept the same to yourself and folks. May the Lord bless you, and preserve you from every danger, and bring you home in peace and safety is the prayer of

Your brother,
Heber C. Kimball
