Bro. Jno T. Conk

Dear bro:-

It appears from your Books, as reported to me, that I have received from my lower Mill, from Nov. 6. 1864, to Dec. 31, 1866., a period of 112 weeks, during which you have had charge, an equivalent to 41712 bushels of wheat, as the toll of the Mill during the length of time; which is an average of 36 bushels per week, and the grinding of 360 bushels per week.

As the Mill appears to have done so little, I do not see the necessity of continuing Garret H. Conk in my employ; and as I am necessitated to use economy in my business, I wish you to discontinue his services in the Mill.

I have always requested my Millers to put down in a book every bushel that is received at the Mill to be ground, so that we can see what has been done, and who for;-- Your attention to this is requested, and if you have not got a Book suitable, you can get one at my office.

Yours in the Truth,
Brigham Young
